Basketball Recap: Houghton Lake Takes a Loss

Houghton Lake lost against Roscommon back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Houghton Lake Bobcats were dealt a 69-23 loss at the hands of the Roscommon Bucks. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-12.

Roscommon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoey Kauffman, who went 6-for-11 en route to 22 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Kauffman a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Alexis Carper, who went 7-for-11 on her way to 16 points and six boards.

Houghton Lake has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Roscommon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-4.

Coming up, Houghton Lake will challenge Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Houghton Lake is facing Harrison at the right time seeing as Harrison is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Roscommon, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 47-46 defeat against McBain on the 13th.
