Preview: Jefferson vs. Whitesboro
Both Whitesboro and Jefferson have made it this far into the playoffs, but they square off this Friday at 2:00 PM to determine who is worthy to move on. Whitesboro has flexed its offensive muscles in its last three matchups, so Jefferson has a real workout ahead of it.
Whitesboro came out on top against Maypearl last week with a 36 - 26 win.
As for Jefferson, it has netted another blowout to add to its collection (now totaling six) after its most recent game. Everything went its way against Farmersville last week as it secured a 69 - 30 win. One major factor in the victory was the play of junior Tybo Williams, who earned five touchdowns and 287 yards rushing the ball. Williams supplied the game with one of its most unforgettable moments, a 90-yard punt return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Williams has been a consistent playmaker for Jefferson as this was the 4th good game in a row from him.
Their wins bumped Jefferson to 10-1 and Whitesboro to 8-3. Of course, Jefferson and Whitesboro can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Friday which team falters and which extends its success.
