Football Game Preview: Weber Warriors vs. Davis Darts

Weber and Davis are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2017, but not for long. The Warriors will face off against the Darts at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Weber has given up an average of 30.9 points per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Saturday, Weber came up short against Syracuse and fell 33-26.

Despite the defeat, Weber had strong showings from DYSON PARKER, who rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns, and CREED DEVRIES, who picked up 89 receiving yards and one score. PARKER has become a key player for the Warriors: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. JOSH HAMBLIN got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Davis came tearing into Thursday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.2 points), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Lancers 42-7. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.

A big part of Davis' win came down to the chemistry between Tradon Bessinger and his top target Bode Sparrow. Bessinger threw for 254 yards and four TDs while completing 74.1% of his passes while Sparrow picked up 111 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Sparrow showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 69 yards.

Davis' victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Weber, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-4.

Weber couldn't quite finish off Davis in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 and fell 39-37. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
