Baseball Recap: Bland County Comes Up Short

The matchup between Bland County and Northwood on Monday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Bears fell 18-14 to the Panthers. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Bland County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Northwood, their victory ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-11.

Looking ahead, Bland County will venture away from home to take on Giles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northwood, they will challenge Rural Retreat at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.29 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
