Football Game Preview: Balmorhea Bears vs. Sanderson Eagles

Balmorhea is a perfect 7-0 against Sanderson since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bears will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Balmorhea's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Klondike on Thursday. They were beaten by the Cougars 74-0. Having soared to a lofty 44 points in the game before, the Bears' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Sanderson played against Grandfalls-Royalty on Thursday and lost via forfeit.

Sanderson is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. As for Balmorhea, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.

Balmorhea strolled past Sanderson in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 43-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
