Baseball Game Preview: Cabrini Monarchs vs. University of Detroit Jesuit Cubs

The Cabrini Monarchs will face off against the University of Detroit Jesuit Cubs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cabrini will be strutting in after a victory while University of Detroit Jesuit will be coming in after a loss.

Cabrini is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Lutheran 11-1 two weeks ago. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Monarchs considering their one-run performance the match before.

Evan Nowc made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, Eddie Hughes was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Noah Roman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Meanwhile, University of Detroit Jesuit came up short against Notre Dame Prep on Monday, falling 9-2.

University of Detroit Jesuit also got a good showing from Bobby Crane, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, University of Detroit Jesuit saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. James Schilp also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

University of Detroit Jesuit's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10-1. As for Cabrini, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.
