Basketball Recap: South Eugene Takes a Loss

South Eugene lost against South Medford back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The South Eugene Axe were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to the South Medford Panthers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Axe came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Panthers are ranked 134th).

South Eugene's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for South Medford, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10.

South Eugene has already played their next contest (against Sheldon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. South Medford will challenge Roseburg at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
