Basketball Game Preview: Manchester Township Hawks vs. Central Regional Golden Eagles

Last Wednesday, Manchester Township lost to Southern Regional on the road by a 56-41 margin. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Manchester Township saw an underclassman step up: freshman Savannah Jackson posted ten points along with seven boards and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for Jackson. Marisiya Goins was another key player, putting up five points and four steals.

Even though they lost, Manchester Township smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Central Regional can finally bid farewell to their 12-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against Toms River North by the margin of a single free throw, 36-35.

Manchester Township now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Central Regional, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Manchester Township didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Central Regional in their previous meeting two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 47-42 win. Will Manchester Township repeat their success, or does Central Regional have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
