Basketball Recap: Waike Roblyer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Miami over Fairland

Miami lost against Fairland back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Miami Wardogs received a blow as they fell 56-40 to the Fairland Owls. The contest marked the Wardogs' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Several Wardogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Waike Roblyer, who went 8 for 11 on his way to 16 points. The game was Roblyer's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Sooter, who posted seven points.

Miami's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Fairland, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Miami will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Adair at 4:40 p.m. on January 9, 2025. After both having extra time off, Fairland and Nowata will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
