Football Recap: Calhan Comes Up Short

Calhan lost against Simla back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs fell 29-20 to the Cubs. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brody Burnside threw for 104 yards and one touchdown. Joey Mast was his top target, picking up 77 receiving yards and one TD.

Simla found their leader in sophomore Ethan Kissam, who rushed for 178 yards and three scores. Those 178 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Kissam.

Calhan's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Simla, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calhan will take on St. Mary's at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Pirates' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.8 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Simla, they will challenge Byers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed ten points per game this season, so the Cubs' offense will have their work cut out for them.
