Softball Game Preview: Fraser Ramblers vs. Armada Tigers

The Fraser Ramblers will venture away from home to take on the Armada Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Thursday, Fraser made easy work of Sterling Heights Stevenson and carried off a 13-3 win. The Ramblers haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Fraser got a great performance from Camilla Dawood as she struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Dawood has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Peyton Mckernan and Irelyn Bednarchik did most of the damage at the plate: Mckernan went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Bednarchik went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Bednarchik has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Madison MacLeod, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Armada). They never let Peck get on the board and left with an 18-0 win on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Armada pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Fraser, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.
