Baseball Recap: Lakeway Christian Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lakeway Christian Academy proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Collins Titans, sneaking past 5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Lakeway Christian Academy let Brock Mauk and Bryson Allen run wild. Mauk scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Allen scored a run while going 1-for-2. Mauk is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Lakeway Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Collins, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeway Christian Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Daniel Boone at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Trailblazers a seven-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. As for Collins, they will face off against Woodford County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Titans 3.8, the Yellowjackets 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
