Basketball Game Preview: Overland Trailblazers vs. Cherry Creek Bruins

Overland hasn't had much luck against Cherry Creek recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Overland Trailblazers will face off against the Cherry Creek Bruins at 5:30 p.m. Overland will be strutting in after a win while Cherry Creek will be coming in after a loss.

Overland played in conference for the first time on Wednesday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They blew past Smoky Hill, posting a 59-24 victory. The Trailblazers haven't had any issues with the Buffaloes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Cherry Creek faced Grandview in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Cherry Creek lost 54-32 to Grandview. The matchup marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Cherry Creek's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 14-6. As for Overland, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.

Overland came up short against Cherry Creek when the teams last played back in January, falling 71-59. Can Overland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
