Softball Recap: Collinsville Takes a Loss

Collinsville's last matchup with Edwardsville could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Thursday. The Kahoks lost 13-2 to the Tigers. The Kahoks have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Bailey Demick was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Collinsville's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Edwardsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Collinsville will face off against Marquette Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Kahoks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Explorers have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Edwardsville, they will challenge Mater Dei at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
