It was a good run, but Amundsen unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 5-0 to the Lane Tech Champions. While losing is never fun, Amundsen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Lane Tech are ranked fourth).

Amundsen's loss dropped their record down to 9-6-1. As for Lane Tech, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-2-2.

Amundsen didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-2 draw against Northside on the 15th. As for Lane Tech, they will face off against Maine West at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lane Tech will be up against Maine West's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.25 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
