Basketball Recap: South Stanly Comes Up Short

South Stanly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 30th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Albemarle Bulldogs and fell 65-18. The Rowdy Rebel Bulls were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-11.

Despite the loss, South Stanly still got an impressive performance from Briley Page, who posted 13 points. That's the most points Page has posted since back in December of 2023.

South Stanly's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Albemarle, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Stanly will challenge Mount Pleasant at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Albemarle, they will face off against Union Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Albemarle is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Union Academy a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
