Softball Recap: East Limestone Beats Priceville for Their Fourth Straight Victory

East Limestone barely beat Priceville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The East Limestone Indians blew past the Priceville Bulldogs 11-3 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Abby Thompson looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed over her last six contests.

At the plate, Miami Wilcox was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kailey Matthews, who went 3-for-4 with one home run.

The win was the fourth in a row for East Limestone, bringing their record for this year to 13-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Priceville, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Coming up, East Limestone will face off against Madison Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (East Limestone 3.6, Madison Academy 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Priceville, they will square off against St. John Paul II at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
