High school football recruits that went off last weekend

Part of the fun of being a college football fan is monitoring the progress of recruits at the high school level. We aim to aid that process with a new weekly feature showcasing the biggest performances from some of the country's top prospects.

Fans of Texas A&M, Texas, Rutgers and Louisiana Monroe might want to pay special attention this week as we unveil our second edition at recruits that went off — big performers from games played Sept. 19-21.

Grant Gunnell
School: St. Pius X (Houston)
Position: Quarterback
Recruiting rank (247Sports composite): No. 30 overall, No. 2 pro-style QB
College commitment: Texas A&M
Last week: 503 yards passing, 10 touchdowns in 69-14 victory over Rudder (Bryan, Texas.). The 10 touchdown passes tied a Texas state record. The Panthers are 3-0.

B.J. Foster
School: Angleton (Texas)
Position: Safety
Recruiting rank: No. 17 overall, No. 1 safety
College commitment: Texas
Last week: 157 receiving yards, 109 rushing yards, three touchdowns in only two and a half quarters of action. The Wildcats walloped Westside (Houston) 63-7 to improve to 3-0.

Henry To'oto'o
School: De La Salle (Concord, Calif.)
Position: Linebacker
Recruiting rank: No. 13 overall, No. 2 outside linebacker
College commitment: uncommitted
Last week: 171 rushing yards, four touchdowns in 49-30 win over Central (Fresno, Calif.). The Spartans are 4-1 on the year.

Jalen Chatman

School: Narbonne (Harbor City, Calif.)
Position: Quarterback
Recruiting rank: No. 1,179 overall, No. 32 dual threat QB
College commitment: Rutgers
Last week: 516 passing yards, 26 rushing yards, six touchdowns in 56-50 loss to St. Louis (Honolulu). The Gauchos are 2-3 on the season.



Colby Suits
School: North Forney (Texas)
Position: Quarterback
Recruiting rank: No. 1,943 overall, No. 65 pro style QB
College commitment: Louisiana Monroe
Last week: 400 passing yards, 200 rushing yards, 10 touchdowns in 70-65 win over Wylie East (Texas). The Falcons improved to 4-0.

Coran Taylor
School: Peoria (Ill.)
Position: Quarterback
Recruiting rank: No. 1,146 overall, No. 30 dual threat QB
College commitment: Illinois
Last week: 261 yards passing, 122 yards rushing and six total touchdowns in a 94-54 win over Bloomington (Ill.). Peoria (3-2) put up 82 weeks the previous week.
