Soccer Game Preview: Jefferson Academy vs. Colorado Academy

The Jefferson Academy Jaguars will face off against the Colorado Academy Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Jefferson Academy comes in on four and Colorado Academy on ten.

Jefferson Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Prospect Ridge Academy a 1-0 shutout. Jefferson Academy's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matches.

Meanwhile, Stargate School kept up with Colorado Academy until halftime on Tuesday, but afterwards: not so much. The Mustangs blew past the Eagles 8-0. Colorado Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by five goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Stargate School from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Celina Frenz led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Colorado Academy's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those eight games. As for Jefferson Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.
