            Baseball Recap: Santana Sultans vs. Steele Canyon Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            Santana fought the good fight in their extra-innings  game against Steele Canyon  on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell  7-2 to the Cougars. The Sultans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

 Nathan Dowers was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off   six  hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Santana saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Joseph Dibble, who  went 1-for-4 with one  double.
Santana now  has a losing record of 12-13. As for Steele Canyon, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-13 record  this season.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Santana is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Monte Vista  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Steele Canyon will  challenge  rival West Hills  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Cougars have won three straight at home, while the Wolf Pack won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
