Softball Recap: Hanson Memorial Comes Up Short

If Hanson Memorial was riding high fresh off their 16-1 takedown of St. Martinville last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers lost 12-4 to the Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy Eagles on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 back in February.

Hanson Memorial saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Claire Childres, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Ella Domingue also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Hanson Memorial has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-9.

Hanson Memorial didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-4 defeat against Beau Chene on the 15th. Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy has also already played their next matchup (against Delcambre), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
