Baseball Game Preview: Santa Cruz Cardinals vs. Aptos Mariners

For the second straight game, Santa Cruz will face off against Aptos. The Cardinals will host the Mariners at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Santa Cruz will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Santa Cruz and Aptos had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Cardinals blew past the Mariners 9-2 on Tuesday.

For Aptos' part, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dom Castillo, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Santa Cruz's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-11. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Aptos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-15.
