Basketball Game Preview: BCLUW Comets vs. Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebels

BCLUW is 1-9 against Gladbrook-Reinbeck since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The BCLUW Comets will square off against the Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebels at 7:45 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-40, which was the final score in BCLUW's tilt against Baxter on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Baxter are ranked 137th).

Meanwhile, Gladbrook-Reinbeck entered their tilt with Denver on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Cyclones 73-59.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for BCLUW, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

BCLUW took a serious blow against Gladbrook-Reinbeck in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 89-18. Can BCLUW avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
