Burnet is 7-2 against Marble Falls since August of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Burnet put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They came out on top against Lake View by a score of 46-36. Considering the Bulldogs' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Josiah Coronado had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 184 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. Another back making a difference was Peyton Lopez, who rushed for 100 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Burnet was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 309 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Marble Falls, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against Devine on Friday as they made off with a 36-14 victory. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 22 points or more this season.
Marble Falls' win came from a few key players Burnet will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Crawford Mattox, who rushed for 65 yards and one score, and also threw for 70 yards and one TD. Diego Aguilar was another key back, rushing for 110 yards on only 13 carries.
Marble Falls didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Quavyon Alexander and Gregory Lemon. Alexander got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Marble Falls' win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-3. As for Burnet, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Burnet has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 204.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Marble Falls struggles in that department as they've been averaging 170.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Burnet against Marble Falls in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 43-7 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
