Baseball Game Preview: Carl Albert Titans vs. Guthrie Bluejays

For the second straight game, Carl Albert will face off against Guthrie. The Titans will be playing at home against the Bluejays at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Carl Albert 2.7, Guthrie 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Guthrie will be up against a hot Carl Albert team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Titans were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Bluejays on Monday. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Carl Albert got a great performance from Mason Avery as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Avery has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Carl Albert let Nate Deleplank and Beau Davis run wild. Deleplank scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Davis scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Davis has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacson Webster, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Carl Albert pushed their record up to 21-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Guthrie, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-5 record this season.
