Softball Game Preview: White River Valley Wildcats vs. Poultney Blue Devils

The White River Valley Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Poultney Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. White River Valley has given up an average of 10.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

White River Valley came up short against West Rutland on Tuesday, falling 12-5. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Golden Horde recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Meanwhile, Poultney came up short against Leland & Gray on Tuesday and fell 9-5.

White River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Poultney, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-7.

White River Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Poultney in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 9-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
