Baseball Game Preview: Twin Falls Bruins vs. Rigby Trojans

The Twin Falls Bruins will be taking part in a tournament against the Rigby Trojans at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Twin Falls will be strutting in after a win while Rigby will be coming in after a loss.

Twin Falls barely beat Ridgevue the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Twin Falls put the hurt on Ridgevue with a sharp 8-1 victory on Thursday. The Bruins not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 4, 2024.

Twin Falls got a great performance from Kentyn Ketterling as he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, Ketterling posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Dalton Carter was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Nolan Lehew also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Rigby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Vallivue.

DJ Boudrero was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Bennett, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Twin Falls and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Rigby, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Twin Falls took their victory against Rigby when the teams last played back in March of 2021 by a conclusive 11-5. Will Twin Falls repeat their success, or does Rigby have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
