Baseball Recap: Foundation Christian Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Foundation Christian Academy and Sports Leadership & Management squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Foundation Christian Academy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by just one run.

Levi Rickley and Luke Michie did some serious damage despite the final result: Rickley scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Michie scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

This is the second loss in a row for Foundation Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 13-5-1. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-14 record this season.

Foundation Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they will challenge Cambridge Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
