Softball Game Preview: George County Rebels vs. West Harrison Hurricanes

The George County Rebels will head out to square off against the West Harrison Hurricanes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. George County will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

While George County's victory against Hancock wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. George County skirted past Hancock 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rebels have posted against the Hawks since April 21, 2018.

Peyton Collins looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Aryana Dixon was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Hadleigh Tatum, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, West Harrison unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Purvis by a score of 3-1.

George County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for West Harrison, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Everything went George County's way against West Harrison in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as George County made off with a 7-1 victory. Will George County repeat their success, or does West Harrison has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
