Basketball Game Preview: Caldwell Cougars vs. Bishop Kelly Knights

Caldwell is 0-10 against Bishop Kelly since February of 2022 but things could change on Saturday. The Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. Caldwell has given up an average of 62.6 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Caldwell faced off against Columbia on Thursday. The Cougars fell 64-52 to the Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Wildcats are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, Bishop Kelly had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-67 victory over the Falcons.

Caldwell's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Bishop Kelly, their win bumped their record up to 15-6.

Caldwell might still be hurting after the 75-53 defeat they got from Bishop Kelly in their previous meeting back in January. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
