Basketball Recap: Valley Christian Picks Up 18th Consecutive Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Valley Christian rose to the challenge on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Gilbert Christian Knights with a sharp 70-49 victory. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Gilbert Christian still got an impressive performance from Jace Olson, who shot 41% from the field to rack up 21 points and six rebounds. Olson's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Abrahamson, who posted six points and five boards.

The win was the 18th in a row for Valley Christian, bringing their record for this year to 26-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.7 points over those games. As for Gilbert Christian, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-8.
