Basketball Recap: Shawnee Mission West Takes a Loss

Shawnee Mission West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lawrence Lions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-36 last Thursday.

Shawnee Mission West's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Lawrence, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shawnee Mission West has already played their next contest (against Olathe North), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lawrence will be playing in front of their home fans against Shawnee Mission South on Tuesday.
