Recap: Gruver Greyhounds vs. Childress Bobcats
The Gruver Greyhounds were the 71-40 winner over the Childress Bobcats when they last played one another back in December of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Gruver took a hard 47-33 fall against Childress on Saturday. Gruver can't seem to catch a break and have yet to win any of their five games.
Childress' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kar'Leigh Husband, who scored 15 points. Clarissa Gamboa was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 9 rebounds.
Gruver has fallen quite a ways from their 26-3 record last season and are now at 0-5. As for Childress, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gruver will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Caprock at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Caprock presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Gruver in Texas (Caprock is ranked 132nd, while Gruver is ranked 1056th). As for Childress, they will head out on the road to face off against Vernon at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Vernon is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
