Baseball Recap: Canisteo-Greenwood Comes Up Short

After flying high against Jasper-Troupsburg on Thursday, Canisteo-Greenwood came back down to earth. The Chargers came up short against the Fillmore Eagles on Friday, falling 17-1. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2018.

Canisteo-Greenwood's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Fillmore, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canisteo-Greenwood will challenge Alfred-Almond at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fillmore, they will take on Arkport Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bluejays will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
