Softball Recap: Wendell's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Wendell entered their tilt with Soda Springs on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 16-12. That's two games straight that the Trojans have won by exactly four runs.

Breanna Comstock made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Jace Olmos was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5. Sophie Mattix was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Wendell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive matches.

Wendell's record is now 10-3. As for Soda Springs, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Coming up, Wendell will take on North Fremont at 11:45 a.m. on Friday. As for Soda Springs, they will face off against Wilder at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
