Softball Recap: Lutheran North Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Lutheran North, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Chippewa Valley Big Reds a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Mustangs have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Priscilla Guthrie was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

Lutheran North hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chippewa Valley struck out ten times.

Lutheran North is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Chippewa Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-16.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lutheran North beat the Big Reds by a score of 12-8 later that day.
