Baseball Recap: FJA Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

FJA waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Henry Ford Academy Trojans get on the board and left with a 13-0 win.

Max Upfall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Upfall was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Louie Kowalsky was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Drew Edelstein, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

FJA was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

FJA's record now sits at 3-1. As for Henry Ford Academy, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. FJA is headed away from home for the first time to take on Southfield Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Henry Ford Academy, they will take on Hamtramck at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
