Basketball Game Preview: St. James Wildcats vs. St. Augustine Purple Knights

The St. James Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the St. Augustine Purple Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

St. James is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took an 80-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ascension Catholic on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, St. Augustine had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Cougars as they made off with a 53-30 win. The Purple Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

St. James' defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-15. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. As for St. Augustine, their victory bumped their record up to 25-4.
