Baseball Recap: Hinsdale Central Comes Up Short

Hinsdale Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cuba-Rushford Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 back in April.

Peyton Keller and Chris Forney stepped up to the plate in a big way. Keller went 2-for-4 with one triple and one stolen base, while Forney went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Keller is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Hinsdale Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Cuba-Rushford, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Hinsdale Central will head out on the road to take on Andover at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cuba-Rushford, they will take on Genesee Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
