Trevor Corbett made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tanner Miller, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cole Schott, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Brownsburg faced Center Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Trojans 4-3. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by just one run.

Drew Jennings looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ty Jarvis was excellent, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double. Colin McNeer was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one home run.

Brownsburg hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matches.

Noblesville pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Brownsburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Noblesville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Brownsburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Noblesville skirted past Brownsburg 5-3 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Millers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
