East Newton hadn't done well against Aurora recently (they were 0-8-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Patriots came out on top against the Houn Dawgs by a score of 3-1. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Houn Dawgs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 15-25, 25-18, 25-16.

Camryn Cornett paced East Newton's offense, picking up 11 kills. Cornett got some help from Kolby Rinehart and her 19 assists. Cornett also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Adi Harrington, each putting up three.

East Newton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. As for Aurora, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.

East Newton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against McDonald County on the 25th. As for Aurora, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Girard on the 27th.
