Softball Recap: Bishop Kelly Has No Trouble Against Emmett

After losing to Emmett the last time they met, Bishop Kelly decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Knights blew past the Huskies 11-2 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Lauren Fettic was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Olivia Watt was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. Jaynie Burke was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Bishop Kelly's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Emmett, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Coincidentally, Bishop Kelly and Emmett will both be playing Middleton the next time they take the field. The Knights will head out to face the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Huskies will host them at 5:00 p.m. on the 11th.
