Baseball Recap: Wood Memorial Comes Up Short

Wood Memorial lost against Loogootee back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Trojans lost 13-3 to the Lions. The Trojans' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Wood Memorial saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Houston Schoonover, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Wood Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Loogootee, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Wood Memorial will challenge Dugger Union at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Loogootee, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions are facing the Hatchets at the right time seeing as the Hatchets are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
