Softball Recap: Kokomo Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Kokomo's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the North Miami Warriors.

Emma Lees made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lees was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lanaya Buckner, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Amirah Marciniak, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Kokomo has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for North Miami, their record now sits at 13-5.

Looking ahead, Kokomo will take on Marion at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Wildkats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Giants have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
