Preview: Rivendell Academy vs. Hartford Hurricanes
After two games on the road, Rivendell Academy is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Hartford Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, Rivendell Academy came up short against Twinfield and fell 41-30.
Despite the loss, Rivendell Academy saw an underclassman step up: Lily Murray scored 15 points along with four steals and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Mason Fahey, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Hartford faced West Rutland in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Hartford fell 38-29 to West Rutland on Friday. Hartford has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Rivendell Academy bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.7 points per game. As for Hartford, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
