Weatherford owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. They blew past the Chisholm Trail Rangers 8-0. The victory continues a trend for the Kangaroos in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now won three in a row.

Cutter Kennedy was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Kennedy was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other pitching news, Kaden Fleming looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two).

Back at the plate, Bryce Smith was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Cory Pantoja was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

The win got Weatherford back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Weatherford will challenge Saginaw at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chisholm Trail, they will take on Trimble Tech in a tournament on Thursday.
