Baseball Recap: Stark County Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Stark County's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Illini Bluffs Tigers on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Rebels in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Stark County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Khaiden Turnbull, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases. Jason Knowles also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Stark County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-20. As for Illini Bluffs, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Looking ahead, Stark County will challenge Earlville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels are facing the Red Raiders at the right time seeing as the Red Raiders are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Illini Bluffs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
