Baseball Recap: Shadow Hills Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Shadow Hills waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Palm Desert Aztecs by a score of 6-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-3 back in March.

Nick Rodriquez was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Rodriquez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Shadow Hills let Jesse Rodqiuez and Armando Lopez run wild. Rodqiuez went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Lopez went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Rodqiuez is becoming a predictor of Shadow Hills' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't). Arturo Aviles also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Shadow Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Shadow Hills' record is now 9-7. As for Palm Desert, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

Coming up, Shadow Hills will square off against Palm Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Palm Desert will be paying especially close attention to the Knights' matchup: after the Knights face off against the Indians, they'll take on Palm Desert again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
