League recap: Jackson throws longest pass in league this season for Liberty

Quinn Jackson and Ryan Henry provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Ellenville. The connection was good for 60 yards, the longest such play in Section 9 C-I this season.

O'Neill extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Stissing Mountain, 62-7. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Raiders.

Burke Catholic's dynamic duo of Robert Pezzullo and Mike Kelly proved tough for Millbrook to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Pezzullo threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns and Kelly had 157 yards receiving. Patrick Joyner helped Burke Catholic's passing attack out by catching four balls for 38 yards.

Kenny Jaycox was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 266 yards on 13 carries as Liberty fell to the Blazers. Jackson also contributed to the rushing game with 50 yards on the ground.

Burke Catholic's Pezzullo and Kelly have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Section 9 C-I in both passing and receiving yards. Pezzullo has thrown for 663 yards this season, while Kelly, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 16 catches for 386 yards. The Indians' Jaycox leads the league in rushing yards with 572.

Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when O'Neill takes on Ed Van Curen Jr's team. Anthony Finochio's team's offense has recorded 190 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Eagles have permitted only 143 on the year.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Dover takes on Onteora. As it stands, the Dragons are in second, while the Indians are in fourth.

Dover moved up to 131 from 285 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Dragons climbed the ranks as a result of a 50-36 win over Chester.
