Baseball Recap: Duval Charter Comes Up Short

If Duval Charter was feeling good fresh off their 20-2 takedown of Cedar Creek Christian last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Duval Charter Panthers lost 12-4 to the University Christian Christians on Friday. The Panthers have struggled against the Christians recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Ryan Cruz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double was his first of the season. Jack Pergament was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Duval Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for University Christian, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Duval Charter will head out to challenge Old Plank Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Duval Charter is facing Old Plank Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Old Plank Christian Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for University Christian, they will venture away from home to square off against Baldwin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. University Christian's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Baldwin's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
